Team outing
3 December, 2007
Hello girls
Here are some long overdued pictures i owe you guys.
Random photos from training:
And photos from Forca Touch @ Bishan Park – Champions!
Anyway, i was just thinking… LETS HOLD A TEAM OUTING THIS COMING HOLIDAY! We haven’t had one in a looooong loooong time!
I was thinking maybe during the first week or something.. we could go:
1. Sentosa
2. Ice-skating
3. Picnic
4. Clubbing
5. Movie & dinner
WHAT SAY YOU?? Comment for more suggestions okay
We shall discuss during one of the training days okay?
I won’t be able to make it on Tues cos i’ve got physio which i can’t cancel cos i cancelled last Tuesday, so maybe we discuss on Thursday? I’m so excited already haha! Lets hope this outing plan will materialise…
Another thing is, IVP is coming up in about 2 months time. I really hope everyone starts attending training regularly because this is our chance to shine. Lets work hard together to play well together as a team in the season. Everyone of us need to go a notch higher in our level of play and skills as well. We need more playmakers. We need everyone of you to visualise and hit the gaps. We can only achieve all of that if everyone faithfully comes for training and train together as a team. I need all of you to put in an effort from today onwards, and i promise you i’ll give 101% for this team. We can do it girls, lets train hard for this 2 months! More fitness to come too yah.. hahaha
Ps. Should we change the angel’s blog to either blogspot or livejournal? And how come no juniors blog here

something a lil’ brighter along the way

ok. i shall listen to sand’y email and start blogging here. but it won’t be anything related to touch tho. >_< just thought that some of you might be interested and yea… this blog has to bekept alive…
optometry centre has a 20% discount for contact lenses. you just hafta download the voucher from the website – http://www.optometrycentre.com.sg/index.html. but here’s the catch, they would need to perform contact lens fitting on u to find the best lens for u which would take about 1 and a half hour and u hafta make an appointment fot tt =S. and the discount is only subjected to certain contact lens (biomedics, soflens38, 1-day acuvue, focus dailies/monthly etc. no coloured lenses, sry!). hey but look on the bright side! u get a free “eye check” which would cost $20 in SPOC’s pte ltd.
but of cos u can always wait half a year more to have someone you noe and trust (uh-hum, me) to check ur eye instead. =P but no, sry, lenses wun be free unless u take part in my fyp!
ok. back to touch. u noe i really wanna train as much as i can these few months before my attachment starts cos mine will most likely be during retail hours, which means i cnt train often. u noe ytd was fun for me tho i had a hell to worry abt my test today. it’s nice to see so many ppl at trg again and playing a proper 6v6 game. i really hope every trg i go could be like tt. but meanwhile, i’m sry to say i cnt come tmr. got a test 8am on fri and i end at 5 tmr. so will see u guys next tue yea?

Back to Basics.

Ok, pardon me should I offend anyone in this post.
I know that MST is still on-going, and many of you are studying for the tests. As you all have realised, training has been cancelled umpteenth times, and the only reason why its cancelled is because some of us tell either Sandy/Clar that they can’t make it at the very last minute. Due to the very poor attendance, training cannot be carried out. Even if we just wanted to play fun touch, there just isn’t enough people to play with! And the most frustrating thing is that we were only informed half an hour earlier. It would be very troublesome everyone at the last minute that training is cancelled, and even more irritating when some of us have brought our gear down to train!
Clar and I cannot tolerate such nonsense anymore. You said you can make it, you jolly well come down for training. Sick? Produce an MC. You have to work? Cancel it. I understand some of you have financial problems, but if you’re committed to rugby, why did you schedule work on days that you know there’s trainings? If you really need to work or you have some commitment issues, please come and talk to either Clar/Sandy. We will be more than willing to help you and perhaps, reach to a solution.
With that said, it has been brought to my attention about MST. Some of you have msged me/clar/brenda that you really have to study for MST and we really appreciate that. Study is priority, of course. But what we’re saying here is about respect & trust. You have agreed to come down for training, so keep to your word.
One more thing about communication. It’s really, very frustrating when Clar/Sandy doesn’t get replies from you people, when clearly in the message, we expected them. We were left to answer our own questions- So can so-and-so attend this competition or not? Or can she attend tmr’s training. From now on, if we don’t get replies, you will be punished. How harshly will depend on us.
You people said that you have PASSION for rugby. Maybe it’s time to prove it.
Clar & Sandy.
Forwarded email from Marli: Country of Origins
24 October, 2007
Hey girls, i already emailed you guys the details but i had a few delivery failure so here’s the email i forwarded down..
Hi all,
There will be Country of Origin Touch Tournament on 17th November 2007, most probably at Turf City. We are inviting players from polytechnics who just represented in POL-ITE 07/08 and are below 20 years of age to join this competition in the Girls’ U20 Category. The fees for this tournament will be $30 per player which includes tournament playing shirt.
We will be collating the number of players interested and will separate each players according to their level of experience. We would like to form 2 equally good teams from Singapore. Therefore, players names will be written on piece of paper and all interested parties will be invited to witness when the cordinators picked the players’ name “off the hat” and separate them into teams.
Please spread out this email to your players and we hope to see all Touch Enthusiasts taking part in this competition. Do revert back to me on your interest in participating latest by Friday, 26 October so that the cordinators can disseminate further informations/details of the tournament.
Thank you and stay in Touch!
-Marli-

I’m sorry for MIA for the past 2 months girls. I will be back soon
Anyway staying back to watch you girls play on Thursday, i really see a lot of you have improved a lot! And congrats to bee ping for scoring her virgin try!!!
More to come yes? Seeing you girls play make me miss playing alongside with everyone of you. And i really saw so much flow in the games that you girls played and i was really impressed! Our chicken wing works wonders man! ? The one where Jaz called for it and then mar did the beautiful switch with lee lian, which resulted in that try (it was a 2v1 and jaz was supporting on the outside)! It was a marvellous try and a job well done! I’m so proud of you girls for playing so well that day. Keep up the good work!
Love, clar

“I’ve got the angels spirit up in my head,
Deep in my heart,
down on my knees!
I’ve got the angels spirit
all over me
all over me to stay-ay-ay!”
Hey Angels,
A mini pep talk here. =)
After more than a month of focused training, fitness, the day that we are waiting for is finally here. =)
Seeing how much some of you improved really warmed my heart and made me more motivated than ever to play with each and everyone of you. No matter how many “stupid” mistakes we made, no matter how much we endured each other’s frustrations and stuff, I know that deep down, the Angels spirit burned furiously within you all and that your want to give your best shot for all the game during this season.
But before the games begin, let me tell you all something ok?
Each and everyone of us, has this competitive streak within us, and it’s up to us whether we want to tap into this streak and put it into good use. I know that this seems easier said than done, but believe me after witnessing how some of you played last Saturday. =D
Juniors: It is your time representing SP to take part in this annual tournament, but don’t worry, we all have been in your position and the most important thing to remember is to play like how you usually do on SP’s field. [Okay, NYP's field is kinda better, but you get my point. =P] treat your opponent with respect, and play your hearts out. Treat every game as the last game, and believe me, before you can say BURN BABY BURN- all 4 matches would have been over. No kidding there, time just practically zoom past.
And Seniors: For my batch, this is the last one man. We’ve been playing for 3 years, and this is our last shot at clinching the championship. But I think most importantly, we must play to our fullest and just play our hearts out. For Jaz’s batch, this will be your second time representing the school to go for the battle, but you know what? I am so glad that the 4 of you [including evan] stayed on in the team and train as a team together. Just concentrate on the game tomorrow and I bet everything will turn out fine.
Lastly,
We are a team, and we will win as a team. =D
love,
san. =)
